How are projects assessed to qualify as a co-production?
Projects are assessed on a case-by-case basis, but basically you need at least 20% creative elements from, and spend in, NZ to qualify as a co-production. The writer and director are worth 2 points each, the HODs (DOP, designer, composer, editor and possibly visual effects editor if effects-heavy film) 4 points, and the actors (two or four leads) 4 points.
