How can I apply for post-production financing?
The first step is to attach to the project an experienced New Zealand producer who will then undertake the application process. Applications that do not have a sufficiently experienced producer will not be accepted.
How do I show that there is a market for my film?
Successful applications will normally have entry to a major international festival and/or confirmed interest from a theatrical distributor.
Is there a form I need to fill in?
Yes. An application cover sheet must be provided with each application. It can be downloaded from the Production Financing page.
What are the deadlines for making applications?
Board Meetings are held six times a year. The deadlines for applications are available for download here: http://www.nzfilm.co.nz/AboutUs/Board.aspx
Specific requirements, criteria and helpful suggestions are provided in the application pack guidelines. Applications should not be made without reading the full guidelines.
