About the Film

Taika started developing BOY soon after finishing Two Cars, One Night and it first emerged as a film called Choice (a slang word popular in the 80’s that has since been replaced by cool, wicked, awesome, mean and eventually by choice again). It was accepted into the Sundance Writer’s Lab in 2005 where Taika workshopped it with script writers Frank Pierson (Dog Day Afternoon), Susan Shilliday (Legends of the Fall), David Benioff (Troy) and Noami Foner (Running On Empty).
