It has been a fantastic year so far for NZ films. Boy has broken box office records and is the third biggest NZ film released theatrically ever, behind Once Were Warriors and Goodbye Pork Pie.  Boy is also the seventh top grossing film ever released theatrically in NZ, behind Shrek 2, Titanic, the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Avatar.  Boy, which won the Audience Awards at the Sydney and the Melbourne Film Festivals, began its Australian release this week.
