When he makes a noise, the girl wakes but she isn’t afraid. This is her daddy. She goes to him, and they play out a familiar routine, a father and daughter game.
The man notices the woman is awake. She goes to speak but when the bathroom door is being opened, the man runs. He doesn’t want a confrontation.
The little girl runs after her father, but when she reaches the fence, she can go no further. As her mother and grandmother follow her, she shares a last look with her father. As he turns to leave, we are reminded of the poignant result of a relationship that didn’t work.
