Ron

Ron (82) sits in the reception area of a rest home, peering outside and waiting patiently for his son to visit. When Daniel arrives, Ron rises to his feet with excited anticipation. the two of them start to catch up but don't seem to be connecting. Ron tries hard to relate to his son but doesn't have the right things to say. To make matters worse, Ron has become deafer and more senile in the year since Daniel last visited. Daniel tells Ron he has a friend arriving - a  lawyer. Daniel tries to explain to Ron that he is going to take care of his things from now on. Keith arrives and presents Ron with papers for the transfer of power of attorney of hs assets. Trusting his son, Ron happily signs the forms. After keith leaves, Ron invites Danny to his room for a cuppa and a proper catch up. However, Danny says he can't - he's too busy at work. Hiding his disappointment, Ron inches slowly toward Danny and gives him a big hug.  This is both unfamiliar and awkward at first, but eventually Danny embraces his father. Daniel leaves and Ron's eyes follow him proudly.
